My focus for the past half month: Catching up with friends, Yoga and reading.
Haven been taking photos, so here's short stories:
During one of the trainings for THK charity, we were taking pictures with Nat. (Yes, that cute man on TV). I wanted to have one photo with Ben who was busy reading his scripts. I told Nat & he walked over and told Ben about my request. Nat said in mandarin:"Just ask & you'll get it."
Yes, he's right. Just ask.
I sell chicken rice for a living.
Customer A demanded a refund because he complaint that my chicken rice tasted terrible.
The next day, he came and refused to pay because he demanded that I should give him a bigger portion of chicken.
The third day, I told the troublesome customer A to patron another chicken rice stall.
My sisters, Ah Lye and Ah Loy told me that I should appreciate customers' feedback & look into the quality and quantity of my chicken rice and improve on it.
Driving the customer away does not solve the problem.
I love yoga but there are some weird poses that I fear to even try.
Diamond pose, shoulder stand etc. I still go for Hatha, hot and gentle yoga for BEGINNERS.
Just this afternoon, my master wanted us to try on Diamond pose. Something that I couldn't do for the past few months.
M: " Now, put your heels close to your hip and lift up. Please try and stay as long as possible. You may relax once you think it's enough."
Upon hearing this, I knew he wasn't looking at my direction and I gave up on trying and decided to enjoy the cool air and used the towel to cover my face.
Happiness is short-lived.
M: "Try."
J: "I can't"
He didn't take this for an answer. He gestured me to get up and with one helping hand he lifted me up.
M: "See? You can."
Yoga taught me that sometimes we need a helping hand, a word of encouragement and most importantly, nothing is impossible.

Robin Sharma- the deathbed mentality
I am addicted to Robin Sharma's books. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari: Highly recommended if you're in midst of finding your purpose in life.
A different insight, bringing me to another level and most importantly, he's the man who believes in simplicity just the way I do.
One of his teachings: To adopt a deathbed mentality. What if I die tomorrow? I am taking this chance to show my appreciation to my FRIENDS.
(You know who YOU are)
Friendship since polytechnic. I knew you didn't like me when you first saw me. Me too. I remember you once said you don't like it when I work too hard. Haha. We ended up in the same project team. You've been understanding and you always know that I'll tell if I wanna tell. For this, you're simply amazing. Thank God for you, I have Reyes and Renee adding love and zest to my life. Your kids are joy to my life.
The 3 of us. I'll never forget our nite cycling trips, ghostly encounters and having cup noodles, potato chips and barcardi breezer at the beach. The last I met one of you was one of the drizzling morning. It was a 10 mins chat & I had one of the joyful morning, smiling while I got on to the crowded bus. The other you, thanks for those talks by the beach and being such a wonderful companion to our photography outings and beer sessions together. Our torturous jog at the reservoir, that box of cookies on Christmas day and alot more, I'm grateful for these memories and I am definitely looking forward to creating more memories- Penang trip!
A fortune in a lifetime, my ex-boss and also a dear friend to me. I can't recall how our friendship get started. Together, we had so many little friends in our nursery team- how we watched them grew up and then bid us goodbye. The next morning, you and I... would go through "mourning" period. Of course there were some exceptional celebration for few of the farewells. There were so much that we went through thick and thin during those 3 years. Given another chance, I want a boss like you in a different working environment. Roti prata @ old place. You know whenever we bid goodbye we always tell each other that our gathering is never enough.
The truth is I almost wanted to let go of this friendship during your missing period. Our laughter, deep conversations and your craps (birthday cake @ fish & co, LCD tv, hardware zone forum- more will be added to the list). Thank you for being that special "hossana" in my life so I really can't let go. Note this: "Trip to Perth" is one of my goals that I want to achieve by next year. Let's work hard and appreciate life together!
Little one, I didn't sign the transfer form. During those days, you were the weather forecast for me & I was the weather forecast for our boss. You saw how bullish I was whenever I had encounters with extreme characters and worse was those words I used during our first conversation, I'm surprised that you didn't hate me. Lucky me, otherwise I would be excluded from tasting the best banana cake and chocolate cookies.
Here's another 3 of us- I once said our friendship is amazing. I mean our combination. Green camp no more. Chocolate and cookies from London, Chinese cuisine and our all time favourite KTV session. To you, I hope we can still continue our annual reunion next year.
To the other, I like to go your house cos your mama would comment that I slim down each time I visit and that alone made my day. Late night movies, prawning, musical plays and enjoying good food... hey, meet up soon for a good chat and gossips!
Update of happenings and problems solving compressed within few hours of gathering. Like I describe, guardian angels. Thank you for showing up when I thought no one knew what I was going through. I am moving forward, I really am. "Bucks" sessions will continue.
Twisted by nature, I prefer to spend time my own. I don't pick calls when I don't feel like it and I have my hiding period too... yet these stars & guardian angels choose to stick with this stubborn cow.

My Reply.
This is a little unusual.
For me to write these honest opinions based on my sister's thoughts, that is heart wrenching to me.
MY REPLY, or rather, my comments that are against you.
Here's what I have to say:
You just don't realize how blessed and lucky you are.
Words like that...
Words like that...
I'm dumbfounded.
Your hard work. Tell me about it.
It doesn't show.
For just one of the instances, that can of potato chips.
I don't wish to reveal the details here.
For that "honest" act, it doesn't justify your so call hard work.
I don't wish to judge on current issue.
I would like to find out about your mention of the scapegoat and more interestingly, who do you think the culprit is? Fill me in.
Papa don't talk much. Do you talk or initiate a conversation with Papa?
What about those additional monthly allowance? What about those calls back to ask you what breakfast you'd like?
You don't realise these effort and obviously, you do not regard and appreciate his love.
Dad gave us freedom, a childhood free of constraint. That's why We grow up, being free spirited.
I don't know what kind of concern you expect from Mum.
Set aside those daily routine of house chores and dinner.
You see how she calculates each single cents for transport fees and her own expenses?
Did you notice that her umbrella is ACTUALLY not in working condition.
She's thrifty so she can give us the best that she can afford.
May I ask:
How much love/concern is enough, to feel loved/cared for?
I'm glad you know I'm reading your blog.

Thoughts
Ranting

: Took this on 21st Mar 09 @ 8am.
The sun ray.
The greens and blues.
I was moved by the scenery in front of me.
Couldn't believe that was morning.
It looked dreamy.
My "Stone" was playing Harlem's 静静的.
It would be nice
if I have someone to associate with this love song.
O, never mind.
I'll wait.
Afternoon meal was "Natto" Gunkan.
Mum wanted Fairprice's sweet plums.
I bought sour ones.
Handful of shopping bags.
I enjoyed my sunday afternoon.
After Madagascar 2 and Iron Man,
Brisk walk to CineNow's DVD rental machine
My thoughts:
if I don't my Tan Family, I have no where to go.
They are all that I have.
For one more day, Thank You.

Feeling Silly
Yogalates
A mat next to window,
A good view of Marina Bay.
If it's sunny,
Sea and sunlight
Sparkling diamonds.
If it's stormy,
Rain and wind
Howling cries and flashes.
Bollywood instrumental.
Matwork and yoga poses.
Cheesecake's encouragement and teachings.
Funny and caring classmates.
Me & my silliness.
I'm enjoying every moment of it.

be quiet for a while and count your blessings,
what more can you ask for?" - Hossan Leong.

Conversations
In Random: Conversations, heart-to-heart talk, happenings and thoughts.
Set the rules, values, priorities and principles.
For most decisions, "LISTEN & FOLLOW YOUR HEART."
I don't understand why people who enjoy seeing relationships falling apart, exist.
My close friend & I feel sad.
Because they have NOTHING ELSE MUCH MEANINGFUL TO DO.
That night, I told my junior that I TRY NOT TO cry for real life scenarios.
I only allow my emotion to overcome myself when it comes to dramas or movies on animals, departures, wars etc.
Surprisingly, romance stories hardly succeed in triggering my tear glands.
The next morning, the family realised the unusual stillness in Moo Moo's cage.
I shook the cage, Moo Moo was LIFELESS AND FROZEN. Yes, I teared in front of my mum and in the bus.
I enjoy heart-to-heart talk, especially by the beach.
Because the night and the sea breeze, brings me nearer to myself.
Uncomfortable with OVERJOY moments, because deep down in my heart, I felt THOROUGH EMPTINESS.
I schedule my time, with my family, myself and CLOSE friends as priorities.
Talking more than usual.
