God's grace is on me!
I thought being a Financial Consultant was a calling from God.
There were many instances (career fair, job referral, recruitment firms etc) that led me towards it.
"God if it is your call, I'll obey." I struggled with this because Sales is definitely not my strength. However, I came up with the pros & cons, reasons .... to convince myself that I could do it.
Not feeling restful, I prayed to God for a comparison. The next day, my job agent, Tracy set up an interview for me with another company for a marketing & sales position. This job would require me to work weekends in the event of ad-hoc projects.
I was really confused, so I talked to Brother Sam who reminded me not to make decision under stress & ... also, God will not put me to a place that my heart does not desire because He made me.
The following day, I called to reject the both job offers (Financial planner and Sales & Marketing position).
Few days later, Tracy set up another interview with another company that required an admin assistant. Being jobless for more than a month and there were absolutely no response from other jobs that I had applied for, I was willing to try any job role that is still within my comfort level.
During the interview, the interviewers were concerned about the compatibility for the applied job position. They explained that the candidate has to be meticulous to handle high volume of paper work. Upon hearing that, I told them that my ultimate career objective is to secure a full time marketing position as I will be doing my degree in Marketing this coming July. I have also checked that there wasn't opening for the marketing department.
Guess what? the next day I received a call from my agent. She told me that the GM and manager were impressed with my interview. They created and offered me a temp Marketing Communication executive position for trial. They are willing to train me & may convert if my performance is satisfactory. Praise the Lord! This is the miracle that Lord Jesus has provided for his beloved-me.
I do not have prior marketing experience, my highest qualification is Diploma in Business, I changed job twice during the past 2 years and the interviewers questioned me on why I left my latest job without securing a job first.
From what I thought I didn't even stand a chance for the admin position to all these surprises... I'm so blown away with how God works! & honestly, my interview was nothing impressive... I knew Jesus was with me, ALL the time.
Well, I have no worries for the fact that it is a temp position because I know, I just received one of the many blessings from Him.
My job seeking period has taught me that: Faith is like a Divine elastic band that will NEVER break. Stretch it with right believing, the glorious living & miracles will follow.
Our Father overcomes ALL things. So, Keep on believing!
