I used only dialects (Hokkien/Teochew) for my replies to my grandparents' questions.
And it was in bits or mix in with mandarin.
But I surprised myself today.
No, I should put it this way: it was the Lord's anointing.
From all of our conversations and games, I learnt the number of wards on each level of the nursing home, I got to know what time they wake up each day to do morning exercise, when is their lunch time and found out their favorite tv drama, food etc.
I signed up to 'sow seeds of love and to leave heart prints 'in their life.
I think it's more like they are the ones who filled my heart with warmth and faith.
We were entertained by one of them who is an awesome harmonica player. He was playing my favorite oldies- Theresa Theng to Frances Yip. He played a few other tunes and had song requests from his fellow residents.
There was one of this uncle who left the biggest heart prints in me. He loves fishballs, pig's liver and likes his rice to go with a little soup so that it's not too dry. He has a good appetite and uses his fingers to feel his food. He sings along with our performers and cheered with all of the servers. He attends church every Sunday. When we prayed, he affirmed the Lord's word with the loudest 'amen'.
I see surmountable faith in this visually impaired man.
He trusts our God with all his heart.
God, thank You for using me. Because of Your grace that You freely gave... I get to experience all of Your love for me.

Without Lord Jesus, I can't be.
